WHAT: Imagine going to a vending machine and being able to purchase much needed food, clothing, baby supplies, medicine, or chickens for a family in a developing country. The Ribbon Cutting event will be held on November 18, at 10:00 a.m. Following the ribbon cutting, the machines will be available to the public through November 30, 2024.

WHO: Deven and Brittany Macdonald, St. George Region Communication Council, Community and Business Relations, will be making presentations and introducing the Giving Machines.
This year, southern Utah residents will have the chance to do just that. As part of the annual #LightTheWorld campaign, visitors to Red Cliffs Mall can provide an instant act of service by donating at special vending machines called Giving Machines. With a simple card swipe, individuals can purchase items ranging in price from $4 to $100 for people in need both in southern Utah and around the world.
The #LightTheWorld Giving Machines, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, started in 2017, has raised more than $33 million in donations for local and global charities. This year’s effort will include 108 locations around the world.
Local charities, as well as the selected global charities of Church World Service and UNICEF, will be participating in the Red Cliffs Mall #LightTheWorld Giving Machines. The local charities include:
- The Dove Center
- Switchpoint
- Washington County School District Foundation
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace
- Doctors’ Volunteer Clinic
