FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATE

ST. GEORGE, UT (September 10, 2024)—The Dixie Quilt Guild’s biennial show, formerly known as Gems of the Desert and held since 2007, has been renamed the St. George Quilt Show and will take place February 7 and 8, 2025. Staged at the Dixie Convention Center for the past few shows, this will be the first year the Quilt Show will be held at the Washington County Fair Grounds due to a demand for more exhibit space.

The largest quilt show in Southern Utah, the St George Quilt Show has averaged 1,600 attendees over the two days from Southern Utah, the Salt Lake area, and surrounding states, including Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Over 300 judged and non-judged quilts will be on display, and many will go on to be award-winning quilts at international shows. An expanded area with 80 booths, featuring nationally known vendors, is a popular part of the Quilt Show.

The Dixie Quilt Guild is reaching out for sponsor support to help with increased costs due to promoting the new name and location as well as expenses for displays, booths, and electrical equipment. “Sponsorship of our Quilt Show is a great opportunity for a company’s products and services to be promoted not only to the show’s 1,600 attendees but our 300 Guild members throughout the year through monthly newsletters, meetings, retreats, and workshops,” said Lynea Askey, Chair of the St. George Quilt Show.

Sponsorship packages are offered in three levels, with full details at our website or contact Toni Johnston, Quilt Show Marketing Chair, at [email protected]; 435-424-3438.

Founded in 1983, the Dixie Quilt Guild is recognized as an Art Group by the City of St. George and holds a 501(c)(3) non-profit status. The Guild’s Philanthropy Group provides for those in need, donating quilts to the Dove Center, Youth Crisis Center, St. George Regional Medical Center, Veterans Home, Orphanages, and Police and Fire Departments.

The Dixie Quilt Guild holds monthly meetings the second Saturday of each month (except July and August) at the Russell C. Taylor Health Science Building, 1526 E. Medical Center Rr., St. George, UT, from 10:00 am to Noon. Doors open at 9:30; new members and visitors are welcome.
