ST. GEORGE — Set to captivate runners and spectators alike with its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant atmosphere, the Snow Canyon Half Marathon is scheduled for November 16 and is sure to dazzle. This popular event will welcome a record number of participants, all eager to tackle the awe-inspiring downhill course nestled among Southern Utah’s iconic red rock formations.
“The Snow Canyon Half Marathon continues to shine as a favorite among runners, thanks to the jaw-dropping views and the unique opportunity to race in this picturesque setting,” said Michelle Graves, Assistant Parks and Community Services Director for the City of St. George. “With our mild November temperatures and friendly atmosphere, it’s no wonder we see participants from across the country flocking to this race year after year.”
With typical daytime highs in the upper 60s, November is the perfect time for outdoor activities in St. George. Many participants are traveling from outside Washington County, drawn by the region’s welcoming spirit and stunning vistas.
The half marathon begins on State Route 18 and proceeds south for approximately four miles before taking a detour into the majestic Snow Canyon State Park. Once runners exit the park, the race unwinds through the neighborhoods of western St. George, culminating in the finish line at Snow Canyon High School.
Friends, family and community members are encouraged to cheer on the finishers and soak in the electric energy of the event.
