ST. GEORGE, Utah — Celebrating the opportunity for more students to live on campus steps way from student resources, Utah Tech University held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 20, for the third and final phase of its on-campus student housing complex, Campus View Suites.

Campus View Suites III opened prior to the beginning of the fall semester and is home to 564 students. Like previous phases, this 164,600-square-foot facility makes it easier for more students to access academic resources, such as tutoring, peer coaching and study groups, as well as take advantage of student life activities and offerings.

“Campus View Suites III is the culmination of a three-phase project to increase on-campus housing bed capacity and enhance residential living opportunities for Utah Tech students. Each phase complements the other, and Campus View Suites III brings added amenities and improved physical characteristics in response to student feedback,” Seth Gubler, UT director of housing and resident life, said. “We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this beautiful building. Now, more Utah Tech students can enjoy the ‘Suite Life,’ an on-campus environment where students can easily engage and connect with peers and campus resources.”

Campus View Suites III includes private and shared study rooms, a fitness room, a multipurpose room and laundry facilities on each floor as well as game rooms, indoor bike storage and housing staff offices. The building also includes a grocery store stocked with fresh fruit, vegetables and dairy on the first level. Large common kitchens are located on each floor with full-size cooking appliances and living rooms with large TVs and furniture.

The newest building in the complex will round out the housing corridor on the northeast corner of campus. Campus View Suites I added 352 beds to campus in fall 2016 while the second phase of the facility became home to 534 students in fall 2021.

Utah Tech partnered with the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management, Layton Construction and Method Studio to make this project possible.

“Beginning in early 2023, we set out for 16 months to build something amazing,” Jon Gibb, director of facilities planning and construction at Utah Tech, said. “The design detail, craftsmanship and care of construction is worthy of noting and thanking all the partners who helped to make this happen. Our team is very proud to finish out this corner of campus with a building that can stand as a home for current students and many more to come.”
