ST. GEORGE, Utah — Featuring trick-or-treating, games and a live pumpkin carving, Utah Tech University’s annual Tricks & Treats Night is being held in conjunction with the first men’s basketball game of the season.
Tricks & Treats Night is set to take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the concourse of Utah Tech’s Burns Arena on Oct. 30. Directly following the event, the men’s basketball team will take on Justice College at 7 p.m. also in Burns Arena. The fall festivities are open to community members of all ages and admission to both Tricks & Treats Night and the basketball game are free.
“We are so excited to host the community for this fun night full of events,” Brooke Ulrich, Utah Tech’s director of University Events & Promotions, said. “There’s no better time in St. George than fall, making Tricks & Treats Night the perfect opportunity to come together as a community and make memories that will last a lifetime.”
Trick-or-treaters will enter the event by going through a pumpkin walk and watching a live carving of a 1,200-pound pumpkin. The finished jack-o’-lantern will be lit and on display for the remainder of the evening as trick-or-treating and games are available. Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to bring a bag, basket or bucket to us to collect treats.
Additionally, a costume parade will be held at half-time of the Trailblazer basketball game on the court. All trick-or-treaters are invited to participate in the parade.
